AI tools such as GitHub Copilot are reshaping the way our development teams work. But how do we know if they truly make our developers more productive — and happier in their work? We measured developer satisfaction at the point of Copilot introduction in 2023 and again now in 2025. The results are significant: AI adoption keeps improving well-being and flow, and developers continue to report positive feedback on their daily work experience. To better understand the impact, we combined qualitative insights from the SPACE framework with quantitative data from DORA metrics and AI utilization statistics. Together, these provide a unique view into how AI is shaping productivity. External research remains divided: some studies suggest only limited gains, while others highlight strong benefits — particularly in mature teams. Join our talk to explore how AI adoption and developer productivity intersect, and what the findings reveal about the future of software development.
