Chad Schorr is a software development director at the Associated Press and is responsible for delivering solutions for the complex business problems of the breaking news business.  His latest focus has been bringing continuous delivery and DevOps practices to the AP.  Chad has been responsible for newsroom technology at AP, where he delivered an editorial system that’s used to produce news by thousands of journalists located around the world.  This system was recognized by Information Week when they listed AP as #12 on their 2010 Top 500 list of most innovative companies.  Chad helped lead the re-imagining of the AP’s photo archive business with the introduction of a new online tool that exposes the world’s largest collection of historical and contemporary photos.  Additionally, Chad is responsible for development of AP’s search platforms, elections systems, ingestion systems, and automation standards.

Prior to the AP, Chad worked as a senior software engineer for the technology consulting firm, Sapient.  At Sapient, Chad delivered custom software solutions for clients in the energy services and utilities sectors.

Chad is a graduate of Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.  He holds a BS in Computer Science and Engineering.  In his free time, Chad tries to trick fish into dining on various concoctions of feathers, fur and hooks.  The fish usually win.
